Style Idol: FKA twigs

FKA twigs’ original sound and style has taken the showbiz world by a storm. The Gloucestershire girl has allready made some pretty impressive accolades, with her album EP2 gaining praise from both Pitchfork and BBC’s Sound of 2014- as well as a prestigious Mercury Prize nomination for her album LP1. Her music has been described as "the UK's best example to date of ethereal, twisted R&B”. The artist is also unique in terms of style- her look has been picked up by both Elle and ID magazine alike. Twigs appears to have a strong penchant for the 90’s- favouring tough girl boots (Dr. Martens and Timberlands in particular), simple crop tops and high waisted Levi’s. Her look is flattering, eye-catching and easy to copy- check out our style page for some tips.

Winter Trend: Military Green

Whether your a pacifist or not- get geared for Fall’s newest trend; military greens. Big names like Fendi, Balmain and Acne have followed up on this army look, and considering the usual British weather it’s definitely a blessing that Hunter’s also produced some high-performance anoraks in camouflage colours. The tough boot has been in for some time, however it’s great to see entire outfits following the military-style doc marten and biker shoe. To soften this trend, accessorise with some feminine jewellery, or a statement belt.

The great thing about traditional army greens is that they pretty much go with everything- don’t miss out on the opportunity to mix up with crazy prints and colours, but still keep warm.

Style Idol: Olivia Palermo

Actress, model and socialite Olivia Palermo has a lot of accolades under her belt- the former The City actress has worked at both Diane von Furstenberg and Elle respectively. As well as being signed to prestigious agency Wilhelmina Models, Palermo has graced the covers of Elle, Tatler and Marie Claire. Her other ventures into fashion include her own jewellery line as well as fashion blog- but she’s probably known best for her distinct style, which is both modern and elegant. Ranging from mono-prints, unique accessories and smart trousers, Palermo combines the high-society New Yorker look with the contemporary woman, or in shorter terms, “Conservative Chic”. She also knows a thing or two about beauty- her perfectly coiffed hair and flawless eyebrows would make the Middletons green with envy.

Pair Palermo’s mono-print outfit with a pop of colour- a 2B Me Accessories’ necklace should do just the trick.
