London Fashion Week - Basharatyan V Marocchino

Spring Summer "15

From the sound of a single saxophone playing in the background to a large cream carpet laid out for the runway, the show was about to commence. The collection for designer Basharatyan was set in a distant era as this reflected on the atmosphere of the show. Models stood holding teacups and saucers at the end of the runway whilst other models would continue to walk up and down the catwalk presenting the Marocchino Spring/Summer collection. The colour pallet for this collection was very simple with its deep reds and natural nudes but this became very effective on the runway. The style of the clothing also represented a distant era with the use of double-breasted jackets, nigh neck dresses and below the knee pencil skirts. Overall the Marocchino collection was simple but strongly effective and well executed when presented on the runway.

LFW Hema Kaul SS15

 Hema Kaul SS15

Presenting her SS15 collection ‘La vie en rose – Life is pink’ at Fashion Scout, Hema Kaul returns to LFW with a truly feminine and glamorous collection.

Drawing inspiration from her roots in India and travels to many exotic countries, Kaul uses beautiful fabrics sourced from all over the world to create her sophisticated designs, keeping with her ethos of producing clothing for confident, independent women like herself, who believe in seizing opportunities to achieve success.

The collection showcased stunning outfits, embellished with floral appliqué, intricate detailing and flowery prints. The colour palette was kept neutral with soft creams and whites with hints of pink and also pops of colour in bright aqua and fuchsia tones.

The collection had a youthful and fun feel with short and playful hemlines and cut out detailing whilst also injecting contrast and elegance with evening dresses, full skirts and longer silhouettes. The models supported big hairstyles with a slightly messy look and soft pink lips, which complimented the collection adding to the playful feeling. Kaul used organza with satin and French tulle and lace giving the collection that ultra feminine, understated look and contrasting perfectly with the vibrant accents throughout the collection.
